Fast dynamic simulations

We employ a full-time team of six specialist simulation engineers at our facility in Toulouse, France. They are equipped with state-of-the-art resources, including:

 

  • 70 LS-Dyna licences with 3D magnetohyrdodynamic (MHD) multi-physics code. This code simulates high-speed mechanics, thermal effects, electromagnetics and fluid-structure coupling
  • 1D MHD in-house code coupled with a circuit code to design and optimize ultra-high-power generators
  • Actual capacity: 4TB of storage, 750GB of RAM
Why multi-physics simulations are needed

As well as enabling us to provide you with accurate simulations, multi-physics simulation plays a crucial part in the development and optimisation of our systems.

 

For example, by simulating the reflected shockwaves that occur in Electro-Hydraulic Forming processes, we can design discharge chambers in such a way that waves are optimized to form up to 2/3rds of the metal sheet.

 

Similarly, in Magnetic Pulse processes, we simulate the magnetic field diffusion to calculate the actual velocity of the workpiece. Beyond the velocity, multi-physics simulations also help predict the impact angles during a magnetic pulse weld.

 

These simulations also enable designers to estimate the stresses generated on parent materials and dies at the point of impact.
